Learning a Language is a Journey

"I meet a lot of Spanish
speakers at work!"

"My fiance's family all
speaks Spanish!"

"We're going to Costa
Rica this fall!"

But It Can be
Frustrating

People waste time, money, and precious effort with little progress. Meanwhile, missed conversations, experiences, and career opportunities pass them by. They think they’re just not smart enough to learn another language.

Start with Amazing aspirations

The dream, motivation, and commitment to speak Spanish fluently are there, but too many people get lost looking for the ā€˜bestā€™ or ā€˜easyā€™ way to learn Spanish.

"I've been doing Duolingo

"I still can't put a
sentence together!"

"I feel like I'm just
wasting my time!"

We hear these stories every day. The truth is that there are no easy ways to learn Spanish, but if you’re dedicated, you’re in the right place.

Why our program works?

Structure

All classes at CR Languages follow a carefully planned curriculum designed to build your skills from the ground up. The small groups of 10 students and the organization of the lessons will get you speaking from day one. Plus, regularly scheduled classes obligate you to keep learning every week.

Expertise

Every instructor at CR Languages has native fluency in the language and theyā€™ve learned other languages themselves (many have learned three or four!). We know what itā€™s like to be you, and we know the pathway to fluency. Plus, with average instructor tenures of 5+ years and in-house training, the instructors know how to teach a good class.

Accountability

The group setting means you wonā€™t want to let your classmates down. Youā€™ll correct your homework at the beginning of each lesson, and regular quizzes ensure you understand important topics.

Support

Youā€™re not alone! You have your classmates, and support from our entire academic team. Julieta, Founder and Academic Director, has an open-door policy and is eager to help anyone who feels lost, overwhelmed, or in despair! Weā€™ve been doing this for a long time, and we can help!

Testimonials

Julieta's Story

ā€œI was so afraid of making mistakes when I first moved to the US. I felt like I should be speaking perfect English. Can you imagine the looks on my students’ faces in my first classes, when I asked them to fill out a ā€˜sh**tā€™ and not ā€˜sheetā€™?

But the fear of making mistakes is what held me back for so long. In order to learn to speak, we must be comfortable making mistakes. And in order to feel comfortable making mistakes, we need to build the right environment in the classroom.ā€

FAQS

The minimum age is 16, and most students span a range from 25-65+.

Anyone who wishes to skip the Intro level is required to take a placement test. For Spanish, the placement test is a one-on-one video conference with an instructor. There is a $50 fee for the test, but that $50 is then discounted from your class if you enroll. To schedule your placement test, please get in touch. Completing a level in the Spanish with Julieta series does not guarantee placement into a similar level for live classes.

Homework will be assigned each week and is a very important part of the learning process. In addition to homework, students should also study vocabulary and grammar topics on their own. Students should expect to dedicate 2-3 hours per week outside of class to homework and studying.

Yes! Youā€™ll be connected with all of your classmates and teacher in a private chat group in our student portal, which encourages students to meet up outside of class to study and practice together. Youā€™ll also have access to additional online resources. Plus, if youā€™re ever feeling stuck, our director, Julieta, has an open-door policy for students that need support.

Missing a class is usually not a big problem. You can check in with your classmates in the student portal for what pages were covered and what you need to do to get caught up. In some cases, you may be able to dial into a class remotely. (Get in touch with our office for more details on that option.) If you miss two or more classes in a row or four classes total throughout the course, you will need to schedule a private makeup class (at an additional cost).
